ESL Classes
ESL (English as a Second Language) classes are designed to assist new English language learners in mastering a second language. In addition to studying English, students will have the opportunity to meet others who are facing similar challenges which can help all participants adapt more easily.
GED Classes
GED (General Education Development) classes are designed to assist students who did not complete high school and need to obtain their GED - the equivalent of a high school diploma in the United States. In order to attend colleges, community colleges and even trade schools in the US, a high school diploma or GED is required.

Kern High School District - Bakersfield Adult School - Career Resource Division (CRD)
The Career Resource Division of the Bakersfield Adult School, whose mission is to promote self-sufficiency through educational and occupational training, operates the Farmworker Opportunity Program (FOP). FOP provides paid work experience and on-the-job training along with soft skills training to farmworkers and their dependents.
MAOF - Mexican American Opportunity Foundation
MAOF Bakersfield provides comprehensive vocational training programs to the residents of Kern County. Training and services geared toward gainful employment in various work disciplines are provided at no cost to qualifying youth, adults and seniors.
Proteus, Inc.
Proteus provides education, job training, paid work experience, on-the-job training, and other support services to farm working families and other program participants.
